Whenever you hear the word concept car, what comes to mind is the sky’s the limit. Literally anything is possible, the cars is yours to dream. Concept cars always open the doors for imagination, if you can think it then it can be made into a concept car. But luckily for us and the rest of the world, this isn’t the case when it comes to the 2017 Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo.
It’s no surprise, the 2017 Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo project gives the designers and engineers the chance to put their dreams to life, sometimes it even gets too dreamy for reality. But not with the 2016 concept car, as head Bugatti designer Frank Heyl explained, “We wanted to create a project as realistic as possible for our fans and put a real Bugatti in the virtual world of the PlayStation video game franchise. Every design characteristic is defined by its function. 2017 Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo is the perfect symbiosis of engineering and aesthetics.”
Now to know exactly why this car is so special, we need to talk a bit technical. With a beast humongous force-fed W16 quad-turbo motor, an 8-liter engine and tires that are painted on the alloys, the Bleu de France-carbon fiber combo are killing it. If all goes according to plan, we should be expecting at least a 1,500 ponies and ridiculous amounts of torque which will crown the vehicle the fastest one of its century.
This beauty comes in two shades; the baby sky blue taking over the front section and the darker blue on the back that compliments the front. According to Bugatti, it’s the same color system which was used by the 1937 Le Mans-winning 57G Tank. The front fascia stands against the world with its eight LED headlights, one of a kind horseshoe-formed radiator grille, and an aerodynamic splitter.
The interior isn’t any less powerful, with a bespoke suede cover which you’d usually find in Formula One shoes, which manages to be both lightweight and sturdy.
Bugatti has unveiled the 2017 Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo to the whole world at the Frankfurt Motor Show which took place in 2015. As to the price, rumor has it that the Vision Gran will cost at least £500,000 more than the Veyron did. That’s all we know for now, all we can do is wait and hope this car saves the world.
